The Weekly Croissant: Songs for The Road

rachelbaiman.substack.com

This week in my The Long Haul column for No Depression, I shared some songs I love listening to on late-night drives, especially after a gig. I’ve been collecting these songs over the years for these moments, gifted to me by friends and bandmates and then added to some mental library. Getting these out of my brain into a real list was funt.

PLAY ON TIDAL

Thematic playlists are difficult in that they wont necessarily have a flow of genre or feel, so think of this playlist as more of a launch pad that could take you in a variety of directions.

Feeling basic pop? Start with Miranda and John Mayer and see where that takes you.

Feeling soulful? Start at the top with Lightfoot and Cotton.

Feeling old school? Ray Charles and Paul Simon to the rescue

Feeling country? Check out Colter Wall

Hope you enjoy!

In love and croissants,

Rachel

It is always fun to see what my favorite musicians listen to. I’d add Never Tire of the Road to it for sure.
