Unintended Consequences
My mom said
A bar of soap
Under the sheets
Will help you sleep
It’s the weirdest thing
She’s ever believed in
I tried it, though
And now I am wide awake
Sharing space uncomfortably with Ivory
Who has some hard edges
But I am thinking of my mom
And smiling, which is nice
